Angoulême - Paris in 2 hours. 30 minutes from Aubeterre sur Dronne wherer there is a famous troglodyte church set in the rock face and a beautiful river: the Dronne. Dordogne in 1 hour, Cognac in 30 mins. 15 mins walk in the countryside to the renovated old grain mill overlooking the Condeon valley & village.

5 minutes from the 4 lane dual carriage way, (free) N10, Bordeaux to Paris. Barbezieux has all amenities, including a large supermarket, market, cinema, schools & swimming pool. Sports facilities including tennis, junior school in the local village of Condeon (1.5 km). Many distractions in the summer. Angoulême is the nearest large town where there is the annual comic strip festival every January. Medieval Churches & monuments all over this historic part of France, not forgetting Cognac, famous for cognac! The Bordeaux airport is a 50 mins drive from the house.
